I know I've been absent on here for the last few weeks but it has been busy, busy, busy. Since my last post I have celebrated my 25th birthday, been to Ocala a few more times, and started more projects, aaagh!
Well, my trip to Ocala was both fun and productive. I helped my Grandma clean out all her kitchen cabinets and her china hutch in the dining room. I emptied everything out, scrubbed the insides of the cabinets, and then reorganized everything and put it all back. I have to say they look stinkin' fantastic. She even took the opportunity to get rid of some things she doesn't use anymore and we started a pile for a big garage sale we are planning to have at the end of this month. While that project may seem daunting and terrible to some people I actually enjoy those kind of projects. My friends and family all know what a freak I am about organizing things. I couldn't sleep if the inside of my cabinets weren't pretty and organized. Same for my closet and my dresser drawers and I frequently clean them out and rearrange them for fun. When I get into these cleaning moods, Luis says that I'm "in the zone" and avoids me because once I get started there won't be any stopping me until they are by my standards, absolutely perfect. I also organized my mom's craft room, or as its more fondly referred to, the crap room. That was a huge undertaking that's still not completely finished but you can at least walk around in there now and find things. Here are some before shots...
and a few after shots...
We still need to hang some things on the wall and mom wants to sew a skirt for the table and then it will look great! We still have a lot of other projects we want to do as well but there never seems to be enough hours in the day, sigh. After, the week of productivity I was able to relax and enjoy my birthday weekend guilt free. It was the first birthday in a long time that wasn't ridden with anxiety because I didn't have to plan anything or deal with a huge group of people. We had a really lovely family dinner at this super charming french restaurant in Ocala called La Cuisine followed by cake at my parents house. It was probably one of the most relaxing and enjoyable evenings I have had in a really long time, it was perfect.I will post birthday pictures tomorrow but right now I need to go to sleep so I have lots of energy for playing with little kiddos at work in the morning. G'night yall.
