One thing I've always loved to do since I was a little girl is collect things. I love the thrill of the hunt and the rush of finding a new addition and watching it grow.I personally collect vintage thermoses, mid century kitchen wares, miniature woodland animals such as owls, fawns, foxes, raccoons, etc., teacups, pyrex, blythe dolls, dvds/bluerays, music, books, vintage luggage and a few others. (Mom I really swear I'm not a hoarder!) What I love most of all about collections is finding new and creative ways to display them and implement them into the decor of my home. For instance, I use my vintage luggage as storage and my mom uses her amazing plate collection as the main design element in her home. Some people may think that collections are tacky or clutter the home but I think that if done right they can be a striking feature in anyone's home. They reveal a person's personality and can be excellent conversation starters. I love to peruse flickr for other amazing collection displays. Here are some of my favorites:
Really pretty book collection.
Clever way for displaying tea cups.
This Catherine Holm collection makes me swoon!
I like the brown and white pyrex grouped together.
