Life Update.

Summer is in full swing around here. It has been KILLER hot! We had a super low key fourth of July and then last weekend we had a little fiesta for Emily, my youngest sister, who turned 19! All of us are in denial about it. She is still nine and her favorite hobbies are making necklaces out of star burst wrappers, building forts, and watching Spongebob. I think she had a great time at her South of the border party though.

1. - Emi with her Panda cake, random at a fiesta but awesome.

2. - Momma really knows how to set a table huh?

3. - Betty Cake! nom nom nom

4. - Emi and Vernie looking really cute.

5. - Me and Emi looking really sketchy.

6. - My plate es muy delicioso.

7. - Me and Lu aww haha.

8. - Ty, Emi, and Me with our stashes.

We all had a good time. This week we celebrate Tyler's on the 20th and Luis' on the 21st. I love July because we have so many celebrations going on all month long. I don't love the scorching heat and suffocating humidity though.

This was a pretty big week for me because Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 2 was released in theaters! Luis and I went to the Midnight showing on Thursday and it was absolutely perfect.

I understand that Harry Potter or fantasy type fiction isn't everyone's style but I've been a fan since I was a kid and I started reading the books. I was surprised at how many different emotions I was feeling sitting in the theater waiting for the movie to start. I was looking forward to the movie all week but I guess it didn't really hit me what a huge deal it was for me until I was at the movie. I was feeling super nostalgic because I was remembering when I started reading the books at age thirteen, and I remembered when the very first movie was coming out and my siblings and I were really excited. I remember gathering around our computer at our old house and watching the first trailer like 10 times. I thought about when the movie came out my dad took us to the midnight showing and we were beyond excited because it was a school night and we never did anything crazy on weeknights ever. I remember at fourteen talking about that movie with my best friend at school, about how much we loved it and then eleven years later still talking about these movies with him and how much we love the story. We (fans) have invested over a decade to this story and these characters. It's kind of remarkable how beloved it is. Now that it's finally finished all Harry Potter fans are like, "okay....now what?" I want to go watch it in the theater one more time I think.

The last thing I'll leave you with is the cute little video that L was kind enough to share with me :)

Have a lovely afternoon! bye K
