My Netflix obsession has been keeping me occupied in the evenings all week while I work on projects and pack up my apartment. Since Luis is out of town I have been busy watching all the things that I know he never wants to watch. Mostly really terrible chick flicks, reality shows, and girly T.V. dramas. These are all guilty pleasure of mine I swear. I have no problem admitting that I love watching "The Hills". Its entertainment gold people! Anyways, here is this week's progress:
1.) Revenge of The Bridesmaids.
I am not really sure why I decided to watch this movie. Raven Symone has always annoyed me. I always liked Joanna Garcia though when she was on "Reba". This movie was obviously your predictable chick flick, everything ended perfectly, girl got the guy etc. It was pretty ridiculous but overall I guess it was pretty cute. Definitely, a good watch if your in the mood to not really think a lot and if you wanna see a bunch of cute boys. I worked on my scrapbook while this was on and I didn't have any problems following the story or anything if I wasn't looking up at all times. ABC Family makes some cute, simple movies, that I enjoy once in a while, especially if I have a project to work on. I give it 2 stars because the only negative feeling I have about it is Raven Symone.
2.) Anywhere But Here.
This movie has been in my instant que gathering dust for while now. I've been meaning to watch some of Natalie Portman's work from when she was a child actress for awhile. She is really good. I liked this movie. It was a little confusing and choppy as most 90's movies tend to be but It kept my interest for the most part. Susan Sarandon's character stressed me out because she was really selfish and irresponsible and she put her daughter through a lot of crap. Again, this movie was pretty predictable, your typical Mother/daughter drama. I give it 3 stars because the acting was outstanding even if the writing wasn't that great.
3.) My So Called Life.
Well this show has also been in my instant que forever. I adore Claire Danes. So far I have only seen the first three episodes. So far I am intrigued but it is soooooooooooo 90's. I mean whoa. I love/hate the 90's. I absolutely hate all the styling/fashion/decor of the 90's. Its absolutely hideous. I remember hating the style when I was wearing it at the time. All those baggy ill fitting garments make all the girls look like the boys. There is nothing pretty, feminine, or well designed about any of it. That may sound harsh but I can't think of one 90's fashion statement that has withstood the test of time. Its hard for me to get past all that while watching the show. Aesthetics are important to me. However, Claire Danes is charming and lovely even as a surly, mixed up teenager. I kind of feel like the plot is similar to "Freaks and Geeks", confused teen girl ditches all her friends and starts hanging out with a new crowd while trying to rediscover herself. I think I like it though and I'm going to finish it this week. Jared Leto is so pretty. As of right now I give it 3 stars.
Luis really needs to come back.
