Handmade Holidays Project 2

I'm really excited to share this next project with you. I always have the hardest time shopping for the guys in my life. I can shop for my sisters and girlfriends all day but there is always a limited selection of dude stuff, especially handmade. So I thought to myself what to do guys like...well, they like electronics but that is way beyond my skill set and budget and guys like meat, like steak and bacon. Okay so how can I combine electronics and meat? Lightbulb! Make a tablet/camera/laptop case with some kind of meat design on it and this is what I came up with.

Supplies Needed:

Felt in three colors, red and off white for the steak and a color of your choice for the case. Scisssors, thread, needle, fabric glue, velcro or a snap button. You can use this stencil I made for the steak applique.

Directions:
1.) Take your felt that you've chosen for case, I chose gray, and cut it into two pieces. Here is where I found iPad dimensions. I cut one piece shorter so that the back will fold over the top. 2.) Stich around 3 sides leaving the top open and turn inside out. 3.) Cut out your steak pieces and stitch them together. 4.)Use your fabric glue to attach the steak to the front of the cover. 5.) attach a piece of velcro or a button snap so that the iPad won't go flying out and you're done!!

I hope the special fellas in your life enjoy their new iPad cases!

thanks for stopping by!

  1. So cute, I too always have a hard time giving gifts to the men in my life. This year, I can't even begin to dream up what to give to my brother. If only he had an Ipad this would be so perfect!
